Training a dog should be fun and easy for everyone! Dog Training by PJ promotes training using operant and classical conditioning (behavioral sciences and learning theory) when training our animals, whether a dog, puppy, kitten, cat or occasional rabbit and horse. Our training program teaches good manners and obedience while still keeping it fun and educational for both owners and their dogs, puppies and kittens. Through positive reinforcement we help you strengthen and build your bond with your dog, puppy and kitten.

Our puppy and dog training classes provide you with individual, hands-on instruction for all breeds, ages and sizes, and skill levels. Our Toy Dog/Puppy class, was developed by PJ, (the first in the area to offer classes limited to just small dogs,) when she adopted her first Chihuahua, Blanquita. This class has proved to be very popular, educational and fun for all who attend.

We provide specialty classes, including our Free Style Danc'n with Dogs, K9 Dressage, Rally O, Fun with Tricks, Doga (yoga for dogs), Fitness Class, Massage, Outdoor Adventure, Real World and more. If you need private sessions, our Certified Professional Dog Trainers are available for personalized behavior modification and problem solving consultations.

Our kitten socialization program is another first in area. We offer you hands-on participation for you and your new kitten and was designed as a socialization and training program for kittens between the ages of 8 - 15 weeks of age. Let us help you get your kittens comfortable being handled, travel well in their carriers, toenail care and much more.

Our Wellness Series, offered in conjunction with Scraps Dog Company, K9 Wellness Center and Discount Pets are a wonderful way to learn more. The presenters are experts in the field/topic they present. For more information, please click here.

We also offer puppy socialization play, kitten socialization play and play for those toy breeds. Our trainers are certified professional trainers and we provide you with the best of the best training in the area. Our inviting indoor training facility and educational resource center is designed to be enjoyed for many years to come. Located just around the corner from Meadowood Mall, it offers a climate-controlled environment that is cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Additionally, we offer classes at Scraps Dog Company, 6120 Mae Anne Ave, (northwest Reno) for your convenience.

Dog Training by PJ is proud of the association with Lake Tahoe Humane Society and SPCA. Classes are held indoors at the Recreational Center in So. Lake Tahoe.
