LEVEL I CLASSES

Puppy Kindergarten 101 - Toy Puppy & Toy Dog - Adolescent Dog 101 - Pits & Bullies

All Level I Classes Are Designed as Follows:

• All ages of dogs, with no prior training or minimal group class experience.
• Puppies over 8 weeks, with at least one-series in the vaccinations with no prior class training or minimal group class experience.
• Families, including children are encouraged to attend. Children should be able to remain calm and follow directions from Instructor during the hour class, can assist with training with parental supervision and assistance.
• Training, learning and practice occur in each session.
• Weekly electronic materials are provided via e-mail to help with your success with training
• There is no fluff in our classes, no tour, you and your dog attend every class and the final day of class includes lessons and handout materials.
• Our class size is limited to provide you and your dog with the best training experience. Yes, we will know your names, your goals and your aspirations for your dog. You’ll receive personal attention in class and if you need additional help, we are available weekly at no additional fee.

What to Bring to All Level I Classes:

• Your class fees are payable on the first day of class. See our cancellation/no-show policy.
Checks or cash only please; we are not able to accept credit/debit cards
• Completed Dog History Form
• Current vaccination records - "five-way" vaccinations (distemper, hepatitis, adenovirus, parainfluenza, and parvovirus) are required.
• Dog Training by PJ adheres to the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) Canine Vaccine Guidelines
• We encourage vaccinating for Bordetella, however it is not required because we do not board animals in our facility. Please refer to your Veterinarian’s recommendation.
• A toy for teaching tug, drop, take-it
• A small "target" object, i.e., pot-holder, mouse-pad, coaster, plastic lid
• A small blanket, mat or towel for your dog to lay on while teaching "settle"
• A stuffed KONG or other chewy item to keep dog’s attention
• A hungry dog! Yes, no meals at least 6 hours prior to class time
• Small, SOFT treats (please no hard, crunchy food or treats)
• A treat pouch is encouraged for easy handling of treats (fanny packs work well). Watch this video for treat ideas.
• Potty bags for clean up, please
• Dog must wear a collar (not metal, choke or pinch) or a harness
• Dog must enter wearing leash or inside a carrier (please don’t bring a retractable leash)
• Instructor may recommend a head halter (Gentle Leader® or Halti®) or "no pull harness" (Sensations Gentle Harness®)
• Instructor may recommend a long-line leash (15-30 ft)

LEVEL II CLASSES

All Level II Classes Are Designed as Follows:

• All ages of dogs that have attended a group training class, including puppy kindergarten, toy, adolescent, or pits & bullies. An equivalent class may be acceptable from another trainer.
• Families, including children are encouraged to attend. Children should be able to remain calm and follow directions from Instructor during the hour class, and assist with training with parental supervision and assistance.
• Training, learning and practice occur in each session.
• Weekly electronic materials are provided via e-mail to help with your success with training
• There is no fluff in our classes, no tour, you and your dog attend every class and the final day of class includes lessons and handout materials.
• Level II classes are designed to help increase reliability, consistency and more from your dog while dealing with unexpected distractions while increasing the difficulty level for the dog and owner.
• At the end of the day, does your dog have a choice? Did you teach your dog to think? Remember free-shaping in Level I?
• Our class size is limited to provide you and your dog with the best training experience. Yes, we will know your names, your goals and your aspirations for your dog. You’ll receive personal attention in class and if you need additional help, we are available weekly at no additional fee.

• An updated and signed Dog History Form

• We encourage vaccinating for Bordetella, however it is not required because we do not board animals in our facility. Please refer to your Veterinarian’s recommendation.

LEVEL III CLASSES

All Level III Classes Are Designed as Follows:

• All ages of dogs that have attended a group training class and successfully completed Brilliant Buddy class at Dog Training by PJ. An equivalent class may be acceptable from another trainer.
• Families, including children are encouraged to attend. Children should be able to remain calm and follow directions from Instructor during the hour class, and assist with training with parental supervision and assistance.
• Training, learning and practice occur in each session.
• Weekly electronic materials are provided via e-mail to help with your success with training
• There is no fluff in our classes, no tour, you and your dog attend every class and the final day of class includes lessons and handout materials.
• Level III classes are designed to help you develop a well mannered, well-behaved, dog.
• Level III classes are designed for when you ask your dog they willingly perform a series of behaviors at a higher level of skill and proficiency while learning how to increase reliability, consistency.
• Level III classes are essential for any dog/owner team considering therapy dog training and certification.
• You and your dog will learn how to work smoothly and naturally with ease, grace and demonstrate enjoyment and fun.
• Increase your skills to utilize toys/play as reinforcement of behaviors – why? Ever watch a K9 Officer Working Dog? Those dogs work for the next play session!
• Learn how to earn your dog's enthusiasm while getting reliability.
• Our class size is limited to provide you and your dog with the best training experience. Yes, we will know your names, your goals and your aspirations for your dog. You’ll receive personal attention in class and if you need additional help, we are available weekly at no additional fee.

CGC Prep w/Exam & 2nd Skill Level of: Rally "O" - Danc'n With Dogs - Canine Dressage

All Level IV Classes Are Designed as Follows:

• All ages of dogs that have attended a group training class and successfully completed a Level III at Dog Training by PJ.
• Families, including children are encouraged to attend. Children should be able to remain calm and follow directions from Instructor during the hour class, and assist with training with parental supervision and assistance.
• Training, learning and practice occur in each session.
• Weekly electronic materials are provided via e-mail to help with your success with training
• There is no fluff in our classes, no tour, you and your dog attend every class and the final day of class includes lessons and handout materials.
• Level IV classes are designed to help you develop a well mannered, well-behaved, dog, work toward obedience titles, therapy dog certification, service dog training and more.
• Level IV classes are designed so your dog performs a series of behaviors at a high level of skill and proficiency while learning how to increase reliability and consistency.
• You and your dog will learn how to work smoothly and naturally with ease, grace and demonstrate enjoyment and fun.
• Learn how to earn your dog’s enthusiasm while getting reliability.
• Our class size is limited to provide you and your dog with the best training experience. Yes, we will know your names, your goals and your aspirations for your dog. You’ll receive personal attention in class and if you need additional help, we are available weekly at no additional fee.

What to Bring to All Level IV Classes:

• Your class fees are payable on the first day of class. See our cancellation/no-show policy. CGC Exam Only: $25.00 (must register for exam)
Checks or cash only please; we are not able to accept credit/debit cards
• An updated and signed Dog History Form
• Current vaccination records - "five-way" vaccinations (distemper, hepatitis, adenovirus, parainfluenza, and parvovirus) are required.
• Dog Training by PJ adheres to the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) Canine Vaccine Guidelines

All Workshops and One-Hour Classes Are Designed as Follows:

• All ages of dogs that have attended a group training class and successfully completed a various levels of classes at Dog Training by PJ.
• The workshops and One-hour classes in each description will indicate what level of training is required to attend and you must RSVP to attend class. No exceptions, please so we have accurate count for attendance.
• Workshops and one-hour classes will post on FACEBOOK as events – be sure to "like" Dog Training by PJ’s Facebook page!
• Families, including children are encouraged to attend. Children should be able to remain calm and follow directions from Instructor during the hour class, and assist with training with parental supervision and assistance.
• Electronic materials are provided via e-mail to help with your success with training for workshops but not for one-hour classes.
• Learn how to earn your dog’s enthusiasm while getting reliability, consistency and more
• Each workshop or one-hour class will outline the goals and objectives and list what you’ll need to bring for class.

All Specialty Workshops Are Designed as Follows:

• These workshops are topic specific and taught by a Certified Professional Dog Trainer and an expert in the topics offered. Each class description will indicate what will be required to attend. you must RSVP to attend class. No exceptions, please so we have accurate count for attendance.
• Generally, the workshops are for humans only and dogs are discouraged from attending since the topics are dog related, educational, hands-on and informative.
• Specialty workshops will post on FACEBOOK as events – be sure to "like" Dog Training by PJ’s Facebook page!
• Families, including children are encouraged to attend. Children should be able to remain calm and follow directions from Instructor during the hour class, and assist with training with parental supervision and assistance.
• Each specialty workshop will post an outline of goals and objectives taught in class; see Event posting on FACEBOOK for special instructions or what to bring.
• Specialty workshop fees are set for each class may include material/CD/DVDs and other handouts that won't be supplied electronically. Each workshop may vary in fee structure.
